The Child Support Enforcement/Collection Division
is responsible for assuring that children receive all the monetary benefits to which they are entitled. This process
begins with paternity adjudication and ends at the enforcement of a court order. The unit has its own accounting
division, which is not only responsible for collection and disbursement of support payments, but also reconciliation
of bank accounts and distribution of revenue to the County Treasurer. Money collected may be used to repay Public
Assistance, Foster Care and Medicaid expenditures, but largely the collections are for individuals in the community
who have no dealings with the recipient assistance programs. |
